Family photo session for two, please.

Joanna, will you make a photo shoot of me and my mom? Oh hell yes!

When one thinks about a family photo shoot – it is an easy misconception to only think about photographs with big extended families or parents with their newborns. Family is as much or little as you want it to be. It can be just you or you and your people or animals.

This amazing mom and daughter, or as we call it in the Netherlands “gezin”, is actually part of my world. I know Katarzyna for over 10 years. Her mom for not much shorter. Even though all 3 of us met only a few times, we always end up having a long conversation about life and everything that it entails.

These two amazing women should write a book, and I really, REALLY hope they will consider this idea. About life, about relationships, about them.

This photo shoot was a surprise for Iwona. A gift from her daughter, wanting to create memories and capture them with photos. We did a few portrait photos and then the ladies went for a coffee to reminiscence their past.

In the end, it took us about 5 hours to wrap up our small adventure. The majority of it, we talked. 

I love my job, to be able to get into such situations. Lets never stop having those meetings.
